Survival Guide: Dust Settles - Official Rules
Everything must have rules and this is no exception.
These rules are to help all players have a good time.
Anyone breaking rules will be locked out of their account
and contacted. These rules are enforced by an army of large
men with sticks, and some small men with Admin powers.
1) Verbal/written attacking of the game
(SGDS) or any players or Admin is forbidden. You may have
your opinions, but be smart and courteous of others. If the
game sucks, tell us how to make it better.
2) Do not allow anyone else access to your account. Why? Because
if something happens to it, we are not responsible. We do not keep
complete backups of your database information. If something changes,
it is your problem. Also this will make you look like a strong
candidate for violation of Rule 3, and if your only defense is
account sharing you will not be exempt. 3) Creation of multiple accounts is no longer allowed. Those found creating multiple accounts will be forced to forfeit either all except
one account, or in certain circumstances, all accounts. This change makes the game more fun
for all. Using DailyWheel accounts, you are still able to reserve multiple names, but not
play multiple accounts. The reserved names can be used in later rounds or for future games.
4) If you discover a bug or exploit, use it. Use it until
you log off and message an Admin. Don't use it again. Give
us a chance to work with it. If you increase your score to
certain maximums your own game play will suffer. I respect
those who find holes, just keep it to yourself and let us
know.
5) If someone informs you of an exploit, they are breaking
a rule. Message an Admin immediately. If you use it, you are
breaking Rule 5. You will be punished as well.
6) Any bots or outside programs are not banned, but we do
ask that you let us know of their existence. If we detect
your use of one without our being informed... punishment
described above will occur.
7) You can be warned or deleted for displaying:
Offensive pictures
Porn images (will result in immediate deletion no questions asked!)
Advertising
Abusive words
Links to anything else derogatory
JavaScript, PHP, non-allowed HTML tags, or any other attemps to circumvent game code
Racist comments
8) Deliberate hacking attempts are prohibited. If criminal
trespass laws are broken, we and our server team will contact the
proper authorities. You have been warned. Attempts to log
in to another's account is considered trespass. You, too,
will be pursued.
9) Do not impersonate a Game Admin. Admins will be clearly
displayed. All who do not have the proper colors and/or suffix
are NOT Admins. Beyond that, we will never ask for your account
information (login, password). We have that information.
Why would we ask for it?
10) Message spamming. Don't.
11) If any of the Official Rules are broken and you are aware or
informed, it is your duty to inform an Admin immediately. Not doing
so is a violation of the rules and your account may be subject to
similar restrictions.
That's it. Pretty simple.
Some places limit how long you can stay on per day. If you
have no life (like most of us) and can play all day, then
so be it. It may be considered unfair, but if you really want
to play, you make yourself available. It works that way in
real life, it works that way here.
If you find something cool, let us know. If you have an idea,
let us know. If you write a calculator that isn't provided
by the Hartley team or Admin team, send it to us.
