Purpose:

Lights are a way your camp can stay safer at night for your people. These structures are actually built on the side of your buildings to light up the area surrounding the places where your people are going to be most often. The higher coverage you have the fewer places will be available for special ops to hide.

For only 1 kWH of power, you can attach lights to your buildings to help keep things brighter around your camp at night. These lights will not only provide you better defense against special ops, but will also provide a mild defense bonus in battle. As with any other building, you will use the Construct page to build lights.

In order to reach 100% light coverage, you will need to build 1 light for every land unit a building occupies. This means that for every shelter level 1 you will have to build 1 light, while for every advanced lab you will have to build 10 lights. Wall units will not require lights.

Opening Requirements:

You must research both Architecture and Ingenuity, first level basic research topics, to at least 10 to open lights.

Improvements:

The only real improvement that you can make for lights is to research Power Generation so that you can power more lights with fewer generators.

Displays:

Your primary display for light coverage will be on your Infrastructure page. Here you will be able to check your coverage requirements, how much is currently covered, and how much more you need for 100% coverage.

Your infrastructure bar will also be fairly important when constructing lights, as this will show you how much excess power you have so you can figure out whether or not you need to construct more generators as well.

The Construct page also contains a table displaying all of the buildings in your camp. Use the text box in the row displaying details about your lights to change the number of active lights that you currently have.

Special Considerations When Demolishing:

The main thing that you should remember when demolishing your lights is the fact that lights provide you with a key defense against special ops raids. Though having 100% light post coverage will only do so much, it is one of the things you can do to improve your defense against special ops. Not having this as a defense will just leave you with a higher chance of being successfully raided, which could lead to some devastating results.
