Survival Guide - Dust Settles: Guard Post
Guard posts are a way you can help defend your camp, primarily against ops
attacks, but also against standard army
attacks. These are a primary part of your defense against ops. Keep enough
of these to meet your coverage requirements and enough militia
to staff them to get a major boost from ops raids. Too few of these could actually
help the attacking ops.
Guard posts require only 1 land unit, 4 workers, and 4 building supplies to construct. Once constructed, they will not be staffed in the same manner as other buildings. Instead guard posts are considered staged and require 2 militia per guard post to be active and effective. You will only need a certain number, though you won't be limited on how many you can build. More staged guard posts than are actually required for your size will not provide any added benefit though. You will build guard posts through the Construct page like any other building. Staging occurs automatically, pulling from your militia. Back to Top Guard posts are a starting building and do not need to be opened with research. Guard posts cannot be improved through research. There are a few places that you can watch to see how well covered your camp
is by guard posts. Your first spot to watch is your Defense
page. This page will show you how many guard posts you have and how many are
staged as well as how many excess militia
you have. This can be useful for checking to see if you have enough militia
for your defenses.
Your final display will be on your Construct
page. This just shows you how many guard posts you have. You cannot un-stage
your guard posts, you will have to demolish them if you want to get rid of them. Special Considerations When Demolishing: One of the primary things you should remember if you decide to demolish your
guard posts is the fact that these buildings form an integral part of your camp's
defenses. One of the best things you can do to help defend
your camp against ops is to keep plenty of staged guard posts. Demolishing
them will leave a major hole in your defenses that can actually help the attacking
ops. |
